Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, creating a friendly and inviting atmosphere
- Manage restaurant reservation systems and seating arrangements efficiently
- Answer phone inquiries with professionalism, providing accurate information and taking reservations
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely seating and service flow
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host station and waiting areas
- Handle guest inquiries or concerns courteously, escalating issues as needed
- Support guest relations by providing information about menu items, specials, or restaurant policies
Requirements
- Previous experience as a host or hostess in a restaurant or food service setting is preferred
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Familiarity with restaurant reservation management systems and POS (Point of Sale) systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Excellent organizational skills to manage reservations, waitlists, and seating charts effectively
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hospitality best practices
- Ability to handle phone communication with proper etiquette and professionalism
- Basic math skills for managing wait times, table counts, and billing procedures
- Experience in hotel or hospitality environments is a plus but not required
