Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines to produce precision components. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, blueprint reading, and mechanical principles to ensure high-quality production standards are met. The CNC Machinist will work closely with engineering and production teams to optimize machining operations and maintain safety and efficiency in the workplace.
Duties
- Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes and milling machines
- Interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings to produce precise parts.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify part dimensions.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot issues related to tooling, programming, or machine operation.
- Select appropriate tooling and fixtures for machining operations while ensuring optimal performance.
- Conduct quality checks using precision instruments and document inspection results accurately.
- Assist in the development of machining processes that adhere to lean manufacturing principles and improve efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols
- Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks when necessary, utilizing hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and other equipment as required.
Experience
- Proven experience operating CNC milling machines and CNC lathes
- Strong background in CNC programming, CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks and CAD tools.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T standards, mechanical principles, and manufacturing best practices.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately and perform basic math calculations related to machining tolerances.
- Experience working with tooling selection, fixture setup, and troubleshooting CNC equipment in a manufacturing environment.
