Overview
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Dental Assistant to join our team on a temporary basis to cover a staff member's medical leave. This is a temporary position with duration to be discussed.
Duties
- Assist dentist during a wide range of procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental supplies, and ensuring all equipment such as X-ray machines are ready for use
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols
- Manage patient records accurately with Dentrix
- Support patient care by explaining procedures in clear dental terminology.
- Maintain aseptic technique throughout all clinical activities to prevent infection and ensure patient safety
- Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth clinic operations by handling front desk duties as a dental receptionist when needed
Experience
- Proven experience working in a dental environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures.
- Hands-on knowledge of dental assisting techniques.
- Proficiency with Dentrix is required
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques to safeguard patient information and health
- Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge related to oral health, and medical terminology for accurate documentation
- Current CPR preferred
