Description:
The Director of Assisted Living oversees daily management, delivers high-quality resident care with dignity and respect, leads and support a dedicated tea, ensures regulatory compliance and maintains a warm, community focused environment for all seniors in Atterdag Assisted Living.
Requirements:
- Must pass state required physical, and TB test.

Must be fingerprinted, receive and maintain criminal record clearance.

Must be able to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing and possess good interaction, and organizational skills.

Have active license in California for a Vocational Nurse and/or RCFE Administrator’s Certification.

Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.

Previous experience in a retirement community, nursing facility, or RCFE setting and have knowledge of retirement industry regulations.

Experience in leading a department or unit and managing a team.

Think and reason critically, and be able to provide clear leadership in urgent or crisis situations.

Must have valid driver’s license to operate an automobile.

Knowledge of computer, word processing, helpful.

Must be able to safely perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Interviews, hires, schedules and manages personnel for Atterdag Assisted Living. Responsible for orientation and in-service training programs for staff on a continuing basis. Completes all paperwork dealing with employees, including evaluations and action reports and oversees the timecard function.

Coordinates resident services in the Atterdag Assisted Living, resident transfers, subsidy processes personal resident needs, orientation to new residents, resident assessment, health care documenting, support for residents and family or legally responsible persons as necessary.

Assist with hands on care of residents.

Complete and coordinate all Atterdag Assisted Living Resident Care Plans and review with families as appropriate. Work in tandem with the Residential Nursing Director regarding clinical concerns.

Manages records such as daily reports, medications, daily census, ancillary expenses/charges, and inventory or storage. Responsible for oversight of the residents' medical records.

Responsible for all necessary reporting to the Department of Social Services in accordance with established guidelines.

Complete all Atterdag Assisted Living incident reports and DSS reports.

Complete annual budget for Atterdag AAssisted Living and work with the HR Director to ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained according to the budget.

Responsible for maintaining a resident centered care environment within the Atterdag Assisted Living.

In coordination with the AVS Activities Director, responsible for resident activities program in Atterdag Assisted Living and ensuring program is providing an ongoing enriching environment for the ALB Residents.

Coordinate the Atterdag Village of Solvang campus transportation program. Work with all locations within AVS campus to meet the needs of our residents.

Communicates with Atterdag Assisted Living resident families regarding care and needs as necessary.

Assist with internal resident transfers with input from the Transitions Team.

Promotes and protects the rights of each resident, holding all information as confidential.

Develops and tracks annual goals to improve services, employee morale, maintain and improve facilities, and to reduce costs when possible. Looks for innovative ideas to improve programs and facilities.

Develops, maintains, reviews and amends policies and procedures as needed.

Visits residents in hospitals or other facilities when necessary.

Networks in a facultative process with other Atterdag Village of Solvang professional staff, with appropriate referrals.

Attends staff meetings as required.
