Mara's Lighthouse is looking for an IN-PERSON, motivated, skilled, and reliable therapist to join our team independent contractor. This position is ideal for someone looking to be a part of a growing and thriving group practice! Our clinicians control their own schedules and are free to choose the times that work best for them. We ask that you see, at minimum 12-30 clients a week. The practice takes care of managing referrals, collecting paperwork, and setting up client charts, as well as billing, support, and operations.
The CONTRACTOR will be responsible for the following:
- Guide clients in the development of skills and strategies for dealing with their problems.
- Counsel clients individually and/or in group’s sessions to overcome dependencies, adjusting to life and making changes.
- Encourage clients to express their feelings and discuss what is happening in their lives and help them to develop insight into themselves and their relationships.
- Assess for risk of suicide.
- Collaborate with clinical supervisor in the development of bio-psycho-socials.
- Collaborate with clinical supervisor, client and/or family in the development treatment plans.
- Collaborate with clinical supervisor to modify treatment activities and approaches as needed to comply with changes in client status.
- Counsel family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with and supporting the client.
- Evaluate client's physical and/or mental condition on a regular basis.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of counseling and clients' progress in resolving identified problems and moving towards defined goals and objectives.
- Monitor clients' use of medication.
- Refer clients' and/or family members to community resources or to specialist as necessary.
- Act a client advocate to coordinate services or to resolve emergency problems or crisis.
- Collaborate with clinical supervisor, client and/or family in the development of plans for after leaving treatment.
- Maintain confidentiality of records.
- Fill out and maintain client-related paperwork, including assessments, client diagnostic records, progress notes, etc.
- Complete all paperwork (progress reports for the courts, psycho-socials, assessment as needed and other paper work deemed necessary) in a timely manner as prescribed by MLCC.
- Attending regular clinical supervision meetings as prescribed by MLCC.
- Attend regular in-service training and or staff meetings as prescribed by MLCC.
Preferred Skills/Requirements:
-Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (license in the state of Florida required),
-Registered Interns Accepted.
-Professional Liability Insurance (required)
-Experience with Christian therapy, substance use, EMDR, working with young children, or couples preferred.
- Timely clinical documentation and record keeping.
- Ability to work with young children (required).
- Availability to work in both our Jacksonville and Clay County offices.
