Role Overview:
The AI Lead Architect owns the technical architecture for AI-powered Copilot agent solutions within Morgan Stanley's COO and PMO domain.
Operating at 80% architecture and 20% hands-on design, this role is responsible for defining the end-to-end technical blueprint -from RAG pipelines and prompt patterns to governance frameworks and security boundaries.
The AI Lead Architect ensures that every agent built by the vendor squad is architecturally sound, scalable, and compliant with Morgan Stanley's enterprise standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Define and own the end-to-end technical architecture for Copilot Studio agent solutions across PMO and COO use cases
Design retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) architectures using SharePoint, Microsoft Graph, and custom connectors
Establish prompt architecture standards -define reusable prompt patterns, guardrails, and template libraries for the squad
Architect governance and security frameworks including Entra ID integration, data boundary controls, and access policies
Provide architectural oversight for Power Automate workflows, ensuring alignment with orchestration patterns and error handling standards
Define integration patterns and connector strategies across enterprise systems (Jira, Teams, SharePoint, Zoom)
Review and approve solution designs produced by developers and prompt engineers before implementation
Collaborate with Morgan Stanley architecture and security teams to ensure compliance with enterprise technical standards
Contribute hands-on design work (20%) for complex or high-risk agent implementations
Produce and maintain architecture decision records (ADRs), technical design documents, and reference architectures
Required Skills & Experience:
Copilot Studio -mandatory; deep architectural knowledge of agent design, deployment models, and platform constraints
Power Automate -architectural understanding of advanced flow patterns, approvals, and error handling
RAG design -expert-level experience architecting retrieval pipelines with SharePoint, Graph, and custom connectors
Prompt architecture -ability to define structured, reusable prompt patterns and design standards across a team
Governance & security -deep knowledge of Entra ID, data boundaries, and enterprise-grade access control frameworks
Enterprise integration -experience designing connector and API strategies at scale in financial services environments
Solution architecture leadership -5+ years leading architecture for AI, data, or digital transformation programs
Preferred skills:
Architecture experience within a Tier 1 financial institution (banking, wealth management, or capital markets)
Familiarity with Morgan Stanley's technology governance, architecture review boards, or enterprise standards
Microsoft certifications in Azure AI, Power Platform, or Copilot Studio
TOGAF, Zachman, or equivalent enterprise architecture framework certification
Experience producing architecture artifacts for regulated financial services environment
The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $56.21/hour - $87.84/hour. Our benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis.
