As a Generator Field Service Technician II, you will play a vital role in maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting power generation systems and equipment. Your expertise will ensure our clients’ generators operate at peak performance, providing dependable power in diverse environments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work hands-on with advanced equipment and contribute to energy resilience.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair generator systems, including diesel engines and electrical components, ensuring optimal operation.
- Utilize schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues.
- Perform routine maintenance on generators and related equipment to prevent failures and extend service life.
- Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling of equipment during installation, repair, or replacement tasks.
- Use power tools, hand tools, welding, soldering, and other mechanical techniques to complete repairs efficiently.
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding service issues, repairs performed, and maintenance recommendations.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports for all work performed in compliance with company standards.
Skills
- Proven dealership or service technician experience with power generation or heavy equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of engines—particularly diesel—and electrical diagnostics skills.
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals accurately for troubleshooting purposes.
- Experience with electrical work including wiring, soldering, and electrical system diagnostics.
- Familiarity with automotive repair practices as they relate to engine repair and vehicle maintenance.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and small engine maintenance tools.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting, manual handling of equipment, and working in various environmental conditions.
