Certified Youth Sports Coach (Elementary Programs)
Location: Multiple Elementary School Sites
Schedule: Part-Time | Monday–Friday | During School Hours
Compensation: Competitive hourly pay (based on experience and certifications)
About the Position
We are seeking an enthusiastic, dependable, and energetic Certified Youth Sports Coach to join our team. In this role, you will teach and lead engaging sports enrichment programs for elementary school students in a safe, positive, and inclusive environment. Coaches will introduce students to a variety of sports while promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, confidence, and healthy lifestyles.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead age-appropriate sports activities for students in Kindergarten through 6th grade.
- Teach the fundamentals of multiple sports, including soccer, basketball, volleyball, flag football, kickball, and other recreational games.
- Create a fun, safe, and inclusive learning environment where every child can participate and succeed.
- Foster positive behavior, teamwork, respect, and good sportsmanship.
- Adapt activities to meet the developmental needs and skill levels of students.
- Ensure all equipment is used safely and maintained properly.
- Supervise students at all times while following school and company safety policies.
- Communicate professionally with school staff, parents, and program supervisors.
- Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to lead engaging lessons each day.
- Complete attendance, incident reports, and other required documentation accurately and promptly.
Qualifications
- Current coaching certification or relevant sports certification preferred.
- Experience coaching or teaching elementary-aged children.
- Knowledge of multiple youth sports and age-appropriate coaching techniques.
- Strong classroom and behavior management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and encourage children of all skill levels.
- CPR/First Aid Certification (preferred or willing to obtain).
- Ability to pass a background check and meet all school district employment requirements.
- Reliable transportation to assigned school sites.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working in after-school or enrichment programs.
- Knowledge of Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) strategies.
- Ability to lead large groups while maintaining a positive and organized environment.
- Flexible, energetic, and passionate about youth development through sports.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, run, bend, and actively participate in sports activities for extended periods.
- Lift and carry sports equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Work outdoors and indoors in varying weather conditions.
