Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated 3K and 4K Lead Teacher who holds a valid New York State Early Childhood Education (NYS ECE) teaching certificate or soon to have. In this dynamic role, you will lead classroom activities, foster a nurturing environment, and implement developmentally appropriate curricula for young learners. Your energetic approach will inspire children to explore, learn, and grow while ensuring a safe and engaging classroom experience. Duties
- Lead daily classroom activities that promote social-emotional growth, behavior management, and physical development through engaging lessons and interactive play.
- Collaborate with families to support children's individual needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
- Manage classroom environments effectively by applying classroom management strategies that foster positive behavior and a respectful learning atmosphere.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of children's progress using standardized testing methods and observational techniques; adjust lesson plans accordingly to meet developmental milestones.
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers or aides, ensuring adherence to curriculum standards and safety protocols in toddler care and childcare settings.
Qualifications
- Valid NYS ECE teaching certificate required or soon to have.
- Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare environments, including classroom management and lesson planning.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management techniques, and classroom safety protocols.
- Demonstrated ability to develop engaging curricula that incorporate literacy education, math skills, physical activity, and social-emotional learning.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, colleagues, and community partners.
- Experience working with diverse populations including children with special needs; understanding of inclusive education practices is desirable.
