Job Overview:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Works with construction Manager and President concerning job bids, emergency situations, employee issues and proper paper work.
Communicates with customers concerning all jobs.
Inspects work areas to determine type of work required and materials and equipment to be used.
Coordinates all locates and works with locators from utility companies.
Directs workers in projects such as construction of ditches and roadways and grading drainage areas.
Operates equipment such as bulldozers and graders and trains workers in equipment operation.
Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
Understands and is able to perform project per scope of work.
Interprets job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
Understands and follows MUTCD traffic control.
Visible inspection of crew truck/vehicle.
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
Maintains time and production records.
Operates & maintains PM repairs on equipment
Assists crew leaders and all employees when needed
Fueling & maintain equipment
Minimal supervision
Prepares trucks, materials for job
Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water and makes repairs as needed.
Performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs and tire chains.
Keep trucks & equipment clean
Hand digging and related jobs that require physical labor
Manual labor- is able to handle hot & cold temp
Responsible to assist w/emergencies
