Maintenance Technician

Mission: Maintenance works in conjunction with property managers to ensure HACP properties look pristine and are well taken care of. They are mainly in charge of all the exterior and interior maintenance of assigned properties and are on call if any emergency issues should arise off-hours.

Job Description: We are seeking a dynamic and community-minded individual to join our team as a maintenance technician. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining relationships with tenants, property managers, and vendors. The purpose of maintenance is to ensure timely apartment turns, exterior maintenance (mowing, trimming, building maintenance, snow removal, etc.), and interior maintenance (repairing issues as they arise, being on-call for emergencies, etc.).
Key Responsibilities:
- May include, but is not limited to: boarding up broken windows, repairing and replacing window hardware, putting up trim, and screens, hanging pictures, replacing/installing shades, blinds, and hardware; putting bypass doors back on track and adjusting as needed, replace damaged/stained drop ceiling tile.
- Perform minor repairs to walls, floors, porches, sidewalks, and
- fences. Repairs to walls, doors, porches, and fences. Repair or replace doors if replacement is needed. Change locks on residential units, install, repair/replace minor units and building hardware.
- Tree & bush maintenance: fertilization, trimming, and pruning.
- Perform or assist with various inspections: pre-REAC, REAC, pre & post move in; move-outs and damage reports, preparations, and install pest exclusions and remove trash. Snow removal as needed repairs, and perform minor service (such as adding oil or coolant, checking or correcting air pressure). Maintain proper operating and safety requirement plans, and performance measures. Continuous improvement of service delivery, to assist in attaining the unit/program/department initiatives and goals, agency core strategies, and mission through a spirit of service, teamwork, and respect. Work well with other employees, follow directions, and work well under pressure, and replace assigned personal protective equipment. Report all injuries and illnesses to the supervisor immediately. Complete and submit incident/accident reports as required and report hazardous conditions or unsafe work practices to the supervisor. Follow all safety and health guidelines, practices, policies, and procedures. consistent with the duties described above. Must carry the “on-call” phone as scheduled.
Qualifications:
- Inspect and report for pests, assist with tenant pest treatment
- Assist in performing light grounds maintenance work, collecting
- Develop and maintain an inventory of materials needed to complete
- Safely operate light-duty service vehicles and equipment; inspect
- Participate in the development and implementation of goals, work
- Attend all required training and safety meetings. Use, maintain,
- Perform related duties and special projects as assigned,
- High School degree or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in maintenance, or related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated commitment to social justice, equity, and inclusivity.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including low-income individuals, immigrants, and people experiencing homelessness.
- Knowledge of multiple aspects of interior and exterior maintenance.
- Use of online applications for reporting, tracking and monitoring company assets.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
