Job Summary
*DO NOT APPLY IF YOU OWE YOUR OWN BUSINESS OR A SUB CONTRACTOR* We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Experienced Painter to join our handyman and renovation team for our family owed business. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering top-quality painting services across residential projects. Your expertise will ensure surfaces are properly prepared, coated, and finished to meet precise specifications, enhancing the durability and aesthetic appeal of each project. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects that challenge your craftsmanship and expand your skills in a fast-paced environment. This position does require to be self motivated and will be working independently majority of the time.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces thoroughly through sanding, scraping, caulking, plastering, and surface cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Apply paints, stains, coatings, and finishes using brush painting, roller painting, spray painting (including airless paint spraying and conventional spraying), and other application methods.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, ladders, and scaffolding safely to reach high or difficult areas.
- Conduct color matching using visual color comparison techniques and apply knowledge of color theory to achieve desired aesthetic results.
- Follow safety regulations diligently by wearing respiratory protection and adhering to safety protocols during all phases of work.
- Assist with renovation projects by interpreting schematics and performing carpentry tasks like trim carpentry or fixture installation when needed.
- Maintain a clean work environment by properly handling waste materials and ensuring tools are stored safely after use.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in residential painting with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Knowledge of coating types and application methods such as spray painting (including airless), brush painting, roller painting, and surface priming.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, scaffolding equipment safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with safety regulations including respiratory protection standards and safety protocol adherence on construction sites.
- Strong understanding of color theory for accurate color matching and visual consistency across projects.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to project specifications.
- Experience with general handyman services, carpentry, remodeling, home repairs, maintenance, and other residential improvement projects is a plus, but not required.
