Duties
- Assist with food preparation and meal assembly, ensuring all dishes meet quality and presentation standards
- Organize and stock pantry supplies, ingredients, and utensils for quick access during meal service
- Follow proper food handling procedures to maintain safety and hygiene standards in compliance with health regulations
- Support kitchen staff with basic cooking tasks, including chopping, portioning, and assembling ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness of pantry areas, including sanitizing surfaces and disposing of waste appropriately
- Assist with menu planning by preparing ingredients as needed for upcoming meals or catering events
- Serve food to staff or guests in a courteous and efficient manner when required
Requirements
- Experience working in dietary departments or food service environments preferred
- Previous dietary aide or culinary experience is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques
- Ability to perform food preparation tasks such as knife skills, meal assembly, and basic cooking methods
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and food industry standards for sanitation and safety
- Strong organizational skills to manage pantry supplies efficiently
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and other departments
