Position Summary:
We’re seeking a pastry cook to join our kitchen brigade. This is a hands-on, learning-focused position ideal for someone with a solid baking foundation who’s ready to deepen their skills in a professional, detail-driven environment. You’ll work closely with our pastry chef to produce plated desserts, pastries, and other specialty items that reflect the essence of Rêve.
Responsibilities:
- Follow precise recipes to create consistent, high-quality pastries and plated desserts.
- Set up and maintain a clean, well-organized pastry station.
- Operate professional kitchen equipment including stand mixers, scales, and ovens.
- Receive and execute direction from the pastry chef with focus and reliability.
- Support daily production and prep tasks as part of the team.
Requirements:
- Basic baking and kitchen knowledge (including reading recipes, measuring ingredients, and safe use of standard equipment).
- Familiarity with tools such as stand mixers, piping bags, and baking molds.
- Willingness to learn, take feedback, and uphold fine dining standards.
- A strong eye for detail and consistency.
Preferred But Not Required:
- Knife skills or previous pastry/kitchen experience.
- Understanding of French pastry styles or plated dessert presentation.
