Beverage Cart Attendant
Primary Responsibilities: Provide friendly, efficient, and professional food and beverage service to guests throughout the golf course via the beverage cart. Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, process food and beverage orders and payments, and maintain accurate POS transactions and cash handling. Maintain cleanliness, organization, inventory, and proper stocking of beverage cart.
Essential Duties
1. Greeting guests in a warm, friendly, and professional manner.
2. Perform all opening and closing duties according to established standards and SOPs.
3. Retrieve cash bank from Security and tee sheet from the Golf Shop/Pro Shop.
4. Inspect the beverage cart for cleanliness, appearance, safety, and fuel supply; refuel as needed.
5. Stock, replenish, unload, and maintain inventory of food, beverages, ice, and supplies.
6. Safely operate the beverage cart throughout the golf course while remaining aware of golfers and course activity.
7. Take food and beverage orders and use suggestive selling and upselling techniques when appropriate.
8. Prepare garnishes and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to established quality and presentation standards.
9. Process orders through the POS/Micros system and accurately handle cash and credit card payments.
10. Maintain knowledge of food and beverage menus, specials, golf course operations, and Prince Waikiki information.
11. Maintain clean, sanitized, organized, and properly stocked bar, counter, beverage cart, and storage areas.
12. Monitor inventory and place or communicate supply/vendor orders as required.
13. Reconcile cash bank, inventory, checks, and required reports at the end of the shift.
14. Train and assist new employees as assigned.
15. Follow Hawaii State liquor laws and company policies regarding the responsible service of alcohol
Other Duties
1. Maintain clean and presentable menus, menu displays, and promotional materials.
2. Operate the beverage cart against the flow of golfers when appropriate while remaining aware of golfers preparing to hit and the direction of play.
3. Accommodate reasonable guest requests for items not available on the beverage cart by retrieving them from the snack bar when operationally possible.
4. Monitor pace of play and alert Golf Shop staff when necessary.
5. Maintain knowledge of Prince Waikiki branding, history, property geography, and service standards.
6. Demonstrate proper wine-opening and beverage-service etiquette.
Work Hours
1. Additional weekday shifts may be required for tournaments, special events, or operational needs.
2. Must be able to work shifts and schedules determined by management.
Equipment Use
1. Gas-powered beverage cart.
2. POS/Micros system and credit card terminal.
3. Ice machine.
4. Coffee maker, tea brewer, and bar blender.
5. Telephone, copier, fax machine, and other standard office equipment.
Mental and Physical Demands
1. Ability to prioritize, organize, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
2. Ability to manage stressful and challenging situations professionally.
3. Ability to remember menu items, POS/Micros locations, procedures, and golf course information.
4. Ability to accurately calculate totals, make change, and reconcile financial paperwork.
5. Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, and reach for extended periods during the shift.
6. Ability to frequently enter and exit the beverage cart throughout the shift.
7. Ability to safely operate and navigate a beverage cart throughout the golf course.
8. Ability to push, lift, and carry up to 25 lbs., including cases of beverages, supplies, and buckets of ice.
9. Ability to safely handle food, beverages, inventory, and service equipment.
Communication Demands
1. Ability to communicate effectively in English with guests, employees, and management.
2. Ability to communicate professionally and courteously in person and over the phone.
3. Ability to handle guest concerns and complaints in a positive and professional manner.
4. Ability to work independently for extended periods while maintaining effective communication with management and other departments.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
1. Minimum one year of previous food and beverage experience.
2. High school diploma or equivalent.
3. Must be at least 18 years of age when serving or selling alcoholic beverages.
4. Ability to obtain required Department of Health TB clearance.
5. Ability to obtain a Hawaii State Blue Card.
6. Ability to speak, read, and write English sufficiently to perform job duties.
7. Must demonstrate a pleasant, friendly, and professional demeanor.
8. Ability to comply with all federal, state, and company regulations regarding the sale and service of alcoholic beverages.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous golf course or golf-related knowledge and experience.
