Employment Solutions is hiring an experienced Receiving Specialist for a manufacturing company in the Northchase area of Wilmington, NC.
This hands-on working-lead position coordinates the accurate and timely receipt, inspection, documentation, and movement of incoming materials. The Receiving Specialist will work closely with Receiving, Quality Assurance, Production, Logistics, Purchasing, and Inventory Control.
- Receive and inspect incoming materials and freight
- Match shipments to purchase orders, packing slips, bills of lading, and transfer documents
- Verify part numbers, quantities, packaging, lot numbers, and other required information
- Identify and report shortages, overages, damages, duplicate shipments, and incorrect materials
- Complete receiving, inventory, transfer, and put-away transactions in SAP
- Operate a forklift to unload, move, stage, and store incoming materials
- Ensure physical inventory matches SAP quantities and storage locations
- Label, store, stage, and deliver materials to the appropriate inventory or production areas
- Track materials awaiting documentation, inspection, release, or delivery
- Properly identify and separate materials placed on quality hold
- Perform cycle counts and research inventory discrepancies
- Coordinate shipments and claims with FedEx, UPS, DHL, and freight carriers
- Maintain accurate receiving logs, discrepancy reports, and inventory records
- Keep receiving, staging, and storage areas clean and organized
- Communicate urgent material needs and shipment issues across departments
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three to five years of experience in receiving, warehousing, inventory control, logistics, manufacturing, or a related environment
- Previous forklift operating experience is required
- Ability to obtain company forklift certification
- Experience using SAP or a comparable ERP system
- Experience completing inventory transactions and cycle counts
- Familiarity with purchase orders, packing slips, bills of lading, part labels, and inventory records
- Experience working with FedEx, UPS, DHL, and freight carriers
- Proficiency with Windows-based computers, email, spreadsheets, scanners, printers, and labeling systems
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively across departments
- Previous experience as a team lead, working lead, or receiving coordinator
- Manufacturing receiving experience
- Working knowledge of SAP receiving and inventory functions
- Experience managing quality holds or incoming inspection materials
