Handbag Designer
Style Works, Inc. is a New York-based handbag manufacturer and distributor partnering with leading retailers and brands across the country. As part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to design for many of our key retail accounts, as well as contribute to the growth of our in-house direct-to-consumer brand.
We are seeking an experienced Handbag Designer to join our team and lead the development of trend-right, commercially successful handbag collections from initial concept through production. This role requires a strong eye for design, a deep understanding of the market, and the ability to balance creativity with commerciality in a fast-paced environment..
Key Responsibilities
- Own and develop product assortments for key retail and brand accounts, creating tailored collections that align with customer needs, market trends, and target price points.
- Create detailed tech packs and product specifications
- Communicate with overseas factories regarding development, samples, and revisions
- Research trends, shop market, and identify new product opportunities
- Source materials, trims, and hardware
- Manage multiple projects while meeting development calendar deadlines
Qualifications
- 5–7+ years of handbag design experience
- Strong technical knowledge of handbag construction and manufacturing
- Experience creating handbag tech packs
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Strong trend awareness, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to confidently present product lines and participate in customer meetings and line reviews.
- Experience working with overseas factories preferred
- Mandarin Chinese language skills are a plus for communicating with overseas factories. (But not required)

Job Type: Full-Time or Freelance (Flexible Based on Experience)
Location: Hybrid – Flexible in-office schedule in our New York Showroom.
Pay: $60.00 - $75.00 per hour
