Job Requirements
- Learn to manage inbound internal requests for procurement
- Train to Track/Expedite current and past due purchase orders
- Communicating and coordinating with warehousing/logistics
- Working with finance on credit issues, reviewing backlog with the operational team, along with other duties as assigned by the Purchasing Manager.
- Review System demand generated reports and recommend purchases
- Requisition multiple vendors/suppliers for opportunities to save cost and increase margin
- Data Entry updating import vessel data in ERP system.
- Verifying/Match Accurate receipt of Import documents to packing slip, bill of ladings, and purchase orders
- Contribute to a work environment that fosters pride in being part of a winning team and promotes team goals.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously with regular interruptions to meet tight deadlines.
- Demonstrate the ability to negotiate in an ethic manner that is in line with the company core values.
- Capability to work in a team environment that includes operations, Inside/Outside Sales, and finance to complete tasks.
- Confident communication and problem solving ability when interfacing with vendors/suppliers.
- Meet and/or exceed monthly, quarterly and annual purchasing department goals.
- Maintain up to date product knowledge and stay current on industry trends
- Communicate with other teams within ITP to ensure the smooth and effective transfer of information required to complete the sales, sourcing, purchasing, and fulfillment process
- Develop and maintain professional working relationships with key suppliers.
Skills & Qualifications
- Energetic Self Starter who enjoys working in a team environment.
- Must exhibit reasoning and/or problem solving skills and be versatile in negotiating/communicating at all organizational levels.
- Excellent verbal communication skills in both one-on-one and group settings.
- Excellent written communications skills.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft software applications with specific emphasis on Excel and Word. Proficient in Outlook.
- 2 years' experience.
