Our growing industrial client near Clifton Park, NY, is seeking a dependable Warehouse Shipping Associate to support daily shipping, receiving, inventory, and material handling operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in accuracy, and wants to build valuable experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
This is a temporary-to-hire opportunity with the potential for long-term employment.
Responsibilities of the Warehouse Shipping Associate will include:
- Coordinate the preparation and shipment of customer orders, products, materials, and supplies.
- Verify orders for accuracy before shipment.
- Track, trace, and update the status of outgoing shipments.
- Prepare products for transportation according to company procedures.
- Consolidate customer orders into crates, pallets, or other appropriate shipping containers.
- Ensure products are packaged and secured properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Work with team members to prioritize shipments and coordinate daily logistics.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through barcode scanning and manual counts.
- Verify product quantities and shipping information.
- Assist with inventory counts and investigate discrepancies.
- Update inventory and shipment information in company systems.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to shipping and material movement.
- Safely move products, materials, and equipment throughout the facility.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, and other material-handling equipment.
- Assist with lifting, loading, unloading, and positioning products.
- Follow proper procedures when handling heavy, oversized, or awkward materials.
- Interact professionally with delivery drivers, vendors, customers, and internal team members.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all company safety procedures.
Qualifications for the role of Warehouse Shipping Associate:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new business software.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications.
- Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- 1–3 years of warehouse, shipping, receiving, logistics, or related experience preferred.
- Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, or other warehouse equipment preferred.
- Knowledge of rigging and the safe movement of heavy or awkward materials preferred.
- Experience with barcode scanning and inventory management systems preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and an interest in learning new tools and processes.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or distribution environment preferred.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and safely perform the physical requirements of a warehouse environment.
