Christian homeschool partner program is seeking a part-time Art instructor for grades 6-12 for the 26/27 school year. This instructor will be responsible for 1 class, on campus in Humble, TX on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:15-9:25am.
Scholars offers in-person core and elective classes for homeschool students. Students study 5 days per week - Monday, Wednesday and Friday at home and Tuesday and Thursday on campus with the instructor.
Ideal applicant will see this role as an opportunity to pour into the next generation, serve as a role model of Christian life and encourage students to reach high standards, both in academics and character.
In this art class, students will learn the fundamentals of art including lines, shapes, color and space. They will explore different mediums including pencils, paints and sculpting as well as study great artists of the past and evaluate their work.
Responsibilities:
- Available on campus Tuesdays & Thursdays (August–May)
- Commitment to Scholars mission, purpose and culture
- Hold students accountable to Scholars standards of kindness, respect and hard work
- Work closely with the Academic Director to establish and execute lesson plans
- Communicate assignments on website for parent and student access
- Integrate Biblical concepts and perspective into classroom discussions
- Facilitate interactive classroom activities
- Assess and record students’ progress
- Provide quality and timely feedback to parents
Skills:
- Prior classroom experience teaching art
- Demonstrate the ability to manage the classroom effectively while engaging students actively in the learning process
