Shape the foundation. Inspire a lifelong love of learning.
Palms Day School is seeking an exceptional Private Kindergarten Teacher to lead a dynamic, academically rich, and child-centered classroom. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced educator who is passionate about early learning, values collaboration with families, and is inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy.
As a growing school, we are building something special—and we are looking for educators who want to be part of that vision. Our classrooms are thoughtfully designed, our approach is intentional, and our educators are empowered as professionals to guide meaningful learning experiences.
About the Role:
As our Private Kindergarten Teacher, you are more than a educator—you are a thoughtful guide, collaborator, and innovator. You will lead a classroom that balances academic readiness with inquiry-based exploration, ensuring children are not only prepared for elementary school, but confident, curious, and engaged learners.
You will have the opportunity to help shape curriculum, influence classroom design, and contribute to a growing school culture grounded in respect, creativity, and high-quality education.
What You’ll Do
- Lead a Kindergarten classroom with a strong focus on academic excellence, social-emotional growth, and whole-child development
- Design and implement engaging, standards-aligned curriculum in literacy, mathematics, and integrated subject areas
- Bring learning to life through project-based, inquiry-driven experiences inspired by Reggio Emilia principles
- Use observation and documentation to drive intentional teaching and make learning visible to families
- Create a classroom environment that is beautiful, organized, and purposeful—where the environment acts as the “third educator”
- Differentiate instruction to challenge and support a range of learners
- Build strong, respectful partnerships with families, positioning them as collaborators in their child’s education
- Communicate consistently and professionally through conversations, conferences, and digital platforms
- Collaborate with school leadership and fellow educators to continuously elevate program quality
- Play an active role in shaping school culture, traditions, and community within our school
What Sets This Role Apart?
- Professional Autonomy: You are trusted as an educator to bring your expertise, creativity, and voice into the classroom
- Reggio Emilia–Inspired Environment: Work in a setting that values curiosity, creativity, and meaningful learning
- Growth-Focused Culture: Be part of a growing school where your ideas and leadership matter
- Supportive Leadership: Collaborate with a leadership team that is present, engaged, and invested in your success
- Community Impact: Help build a premier early learning experience within the school community
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or related field (required for lead consideration)
- 3+ years of experience in a Kindergarten or early elementary classroom (preferred)
- Strong understanding of early literacy, math foundations, and school readiness
- Experience with or deep interest in Reggio Emilia or inquiry-based learning approaches
- Exceptional classroom management and organizational skills
- A reflective, growth-oriented mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships with families and colleagues
- Ability to meet all state licensing requirements, including background screening and training hours
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
