Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sustaining Test Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the ongoing reliability, performance, and quality of our electronic and electro-mechanical products. Your expertise will drive continuous improvement through rigorous testing, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis, supporting product lifecycle management from design to end-of-life. Duties
- Develop and execute comprehensive testing procedures for electronic circuit boards, systems, and assemblies to verify functionality and durability.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and electrical testing equipment such as ohmmeters, oscilloscopes, and multimeters to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Perform root cause analysis on product failures by analyzing schematics, circuit boards, and electrical systems to identify underlying problems.
- Collaborate with design engineers to review electrical schematics, blueprints, and CAD models using AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks, and other CAD software.
- Support manufacturing by diagnosing issues on production lines, performing equipment troubleshooting, and recommending process improvements.
- Conduct circuit testing and electrical diagnostics on electro-mechanical components to ensure compliance with industry standards such as NEC (National Electrical Code).
- Assist in the maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) of test equipment and production tools to sustain high-quality output.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with strong knowledge of electrical systems and schematic reading.
- Proven experience in electrical diagnostics, circuit testing, equipment troubleshooting, and electronic equipment testing.
- Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks or equivalent for schematic interpretation and mechanical design review.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or scripting for automation of testing processes.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), surface mount technology (SMT), soldering techniques, and circuit board assembly.
- Ability to interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, schematics symbols, and wiring diagrams accurately.
- Experience working with diagnostic tools used in electronics troubleshooting including ohmmeters and oscilloscopes.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to electro-mechanical components and electronic systems troubleshooting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis; ability to work independently or within a team environment.
- Prior experience with manufacturing environments or maintenance operations is highly desirable.

Pay: $97,967.60 - $117,982.49 per year
