Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Surgery Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic surgical team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional perioperative care to patients undergoing various surgical procedures, ensuring their safety, comfort, and positive outcomes. Your expertise will support a wide range of outpatient cases in the opthalmology field. Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by ensuring sterile techniques and proper equipment setup for surgical procedures.
- Monitor patient vital signs, anesthesia levels, and overall condition throughout the surgical process.
- Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV placement.
- Conduct preoperative assessments and postoperative care, including pain management and patient education.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care plans, discharge planning, and follow-up procedures.
- Maintain detailed medical documentation within electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards and ICD coding requirements.
Qualifications
- Valid RN license with current state registration or licensure.
- Proven experience in surgical settings such as OR.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique, sterile processing, and infection control protocols.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Nextgen or Modmed.
- Experience working with geriatric patient populations, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring long-term care or hospice services.
- Competency IV insertion and airway management.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy/physiology fundamentals, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding practices, and laboratory specimen collection.
- A positive, team oriented mindset.
- Available to work from as early as 6am to as late as 6pm.
- ACLS and BLS certified.
