Judge Direct Placement is seeking an EHS Manager in Lubbock, TX area!
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) systems and programs for the facility.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS policies, procedures, training programs, and initiatives that align with organizational goals and operational needs.
- Serve as the site subject matter expert for EHS compliance, providing guidance to leaders and employees on regulatory requirements, risk reduction strategies, corrective actions, and best practices.
- Maintain and audit EHS documentation, procedures, records, and programs to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and readiness for internal and external audits.
- Coordinate and oversee routine facility, safety, and environmental inspections, ensuring timely resolution and closure of identified corrective actions.
- Manage Workers' Compensation cases in collaboration with Human Resources, operational leaders, claims administrators, and corporate EHS partners.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, corrective action planning, and follow-up activities for workplace injuries, near misses, environmental incidents, and Workers' Compensation claims.
- Support Process Safety Management (PSM) initiatives, including ammonia refrigeration compliance activities, documentation management, action tracking, and participation in required meetings.
- Assess hazardous and potentially hazardous conditions, develop risk mitigation strategies, and drive corrective actions to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
- Conduct training needs assessments and design, coordinate, and deliver EHS training programs for employees at all levels, including management, supervisors, operators, and new hires.
- Manage inventory and availability of safety equipment, sanitation materials, emergency response resources, and first aid supplies.
- Oversee environmental compliance activities, including permits, regulatory inspections, agency communications, reporting requirements, and recordkeeping.
- Chair Safety, Sustainability & Environmental (SSE) Committee meetings and ensure timely execution of committee initiatives and action items.
- Monitor, analyze, and communicate EHS performance metrics, including safety KPIs, environmental data, incident trends, and corrective action progress to facility and divisional leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen the site's safety culture, enhance regulatory compliance, reduce operational risks, and improve overall business performance.
- Collaborate as an active member of the Food Safety and Food Quality teams to support regulatory and operational excellence.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to promote employee engagement, accountability, and a proactive approach to environmental, health, and safety performance across the facility.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Safety, Engineering, preferred

5+ years of progressively responsible environmental, health and safety experience, preferably in a manufacturing, processing, food production, or industrial environment.

Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.

EHS-related certifications such as OSHA 30, ASP, CSP, CHMM, or similar credentials preferred.
