Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Per Diem PACU RN, available specifically on Wednesdays or Thursdays! Duties
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews.
- Administer medications and injections accurately, following strict aseptic techniques and HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with diagnostic procedures such as IV insertions, catheterizations, suturing, and specimen collection.
- Monitor patients’ conditions closely, managing acute pain and providing appropriate interventions.
- Document all patient interactions thoroughly using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic or Cerner.
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists in areas such as ophthalmology, cardiology, ICU care, trauma medicine, and hospice & palliative medicine.
- Support triage processes in urgent care or emergency room settings to prioritize patient needs effectively.
Requirements
- Valid RN license with current state certification.
- Critical care experience in settings such as ICU or trauma centers preferred.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth.
- Experience working with diverse populations including long-term care residents, individuals with developmental disabilities, memory care patients, and those in hospice or palliative settings.
- Knowledge of ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, CPT coding, and medical documentation standards.
- Skilled in procedures like IV infusion, phlebotomy, venipuncture, airway management, and sterile processing techniques.
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, infection control practices, and medication administration protocols.
- Excellent patient assessment skills with the ability to handle emergency situations confidently in hospital or outpatient environments.
