Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Manager of Distribution Operations to lead and optimize our distribution network. This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless coordination across warehouse, transportation, and supply chain functions to deliver exceptional service levels. The ideal candidate will drive process improvements, oversee inventory management, and lead a team of logistics professionals to achieve operational excellence. Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and supervision of distribution operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory control, and warehouse management systems.
- Develop and implement process improvement initiatives utilizing lean principles to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and streamline workflows.
- Oversee transportation management systems (TMS) and coordinate freight movement with third-party logistics providers (3PL) and NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) partners to optimize freight costs and delivery times.
- Manage warehouse supervisor teams ensuring adherence to safety standards, operational procedures, and performance targets.
- Monitor supply chain metrics through analytics tools such as ERP systems and supply chain analytics platforms to identify areas for enhancement.
- Coordinate demand planning, production scheduling, procurement, and inventory management to meet customer requirements efficiently.
- Prepare budgets, control costs, and oversee profit & loss responsibilities for distribution activities.
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, warehouse safety protocols, and company policies while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on logistics management, procurement strategies, and order fulfillment processes to support overall supply chain objectives.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in distribution operations management with supervisory responsibilities in warehousing or logistics environments.
- Strong understanding of supply chain management principles including inventory management, warehouse operations, transportation planning, and freight forwarding.
- Hands-on experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), ERP platforms such as AS400 or similar enterprise software.
- Demonstrated ability in process improvement methodologies like lean or continuous improvement initiatives.
- Skilled in managing budgets, profit & loss statements, and supply chain analytics for data-driven decision making.
- Excellent managerial communication skills with the ability to lead teams effectively across multiple functions.
- Familiarity with 3PL providers, NVOCC operations, fleet management, materials management, and procurement processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite for reporting and analysis purposes; experience with supply chain analytics tools is a plus.
- Prior experience supervising warehouse staff or distribution teams within fast-paced environments is highly desirable.

Pay: $75,040.00 - $115,000.00 per year
