Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Nursing Relief Supervisor to oversee care operations during a specified period. This role involves supervising nursing staff, ensuring quality resident care, and maintaining compliance with healthcare standards in a long-term care or assisted living environment. The supervisor will coordinate daily activities, support staff with clinical duties, and promote a safe, compassionate atmosphere for residents with diverse needs, including those requiring Alzheimer's and dementia care. This temporary position offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team and make a meaningful difference in residents’ lives.
Responsibilities
- Supervise nursing staff and caregiving team members during scheduled shifts to ensure high-quality resident care.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support for residents.
- Monitor and record vital signs, medication administration, and other clinical procedures following established protocols.
- Support residents with cognitive disabilities, including those with dementia or memory care needs, utilizing specialized behavior management techniques.
- Ensure safe patient lifting practices using equipment like Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques to prevent injury.
- Maintain accurate documentation of resident care activities, incident reports, and shift logs.
- Promote a clean, safe environment by assisting with light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control standards.
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or residential care homes is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Alzheimer's disease, dementia care, and memory support strategies.
- Proven ability to assist with ADLs and provide personal care in a compassionate manner.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental or cognitive disabilities in home or community settings.
- Familiarity with vital signs measurement, medication administration, CPR/First Aid certification, and safe patient handling practices.
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration.
- Previous roles involving geriatrics, long-term care, or senior care environments are advantageous.
