Purpose of Position: The 2nd Shift Paint department auditor will provide leadership and organization to the paint process and department while maintaining a safe and clean working environment. The Paint auditor will be responsible for the accurate separation of good and bad parts, in a timely manner while following all MTNA policies and procedures.
Essential Job Functions
- Ensure that Safety and 5S policies are being followed
- Visually inspect surfaces for common paint defects such as runs, sags, orange peel, overspray, dirt, fisheyes, and craters
- Use trained judgement to dictate parts are acceptable
- Complete parts second inspection in the takt times given
- Communicate with Team Leader to appropriately prioritize parts inspection
- Report paint issues to the team leader and technicians
- Proper shop floor input for accurate data analysis
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and audits in accordance with company procedures
- Participate in internal quality improvement initiatives, paint process evaluations, and continuous improvement projects
Experience and Knowledge
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred
- Previous Quality experience preferred
