Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding service to ensure a positive shopping experience
- Assist customers with product selection, demonstrations, and answering questions about store merchandise
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for retail sales transactions and cash handling
- Upsell products by highlighting features and benefits to meet customer needs and increase sales
- Stock shelves, organize displays, and ensure merchandise is well-presented and replenished regularly
- Maintain proper cash register operations, including cashiering, cash drawer handling, and basic math calculations
- Support merchandising efforts by arranging products according to store standards and promotional plans
- Provide bilingual assistance when needed to serve a diverse customer base effectively
- Follow phone etiquette standards when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
Experience
- Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in grocery stores or similar environments
- Familiarity with POS systems and retail math calculations for accurate transactions
- Supervising experience or leadership roles are a plus but not required
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers confidently
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and customer service best practices
- Ability to handle cash register operations efficiently while maintaining accuracy in cash handling and cash drawer management
- Bilingual skills are highly desirable to assist a diverse clientele effectively
