The Line Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality dishes in a timely and consistent manner, following established recipes and presentation standards. This role supports the overall dining experience by maintaining a clean, organized workstation and collaborating closely with the culinary team to ensure every guest enjoys a memorable meal.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Education & Experience
- 1-3 years line cook experience with high volume or fine dining.
- Strong knife skills.
- Suffolk County Food Managers Certificate preferred
- Takes great pride in the food they prepare and serve
- Being Multilingual helpful
- Shares the cultural belief that teamwork delivers results
Physical requirements:
- Ability to work required full-time shift.
- Light work - Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Ability to stand during entire shift.
General Requirements
- Prior experience in a professional kitchen or culinary environment preferred
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen safety
- Ability to follow recipes and plating guidelines with precision
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities

- Follow proper procedures for storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients

DUTIES & FUNCTIONS
Fundamental Requirements
- Prepare meals according to recipe cards
- Set up and maintain workstation by following daily prep sheets according to forecast
- Complete the prep list in efficient manner and be ready for service
- Follow station sanitizing bucket standard according to Suffolk County Board of Health Requirements
- Proper storage of all walk ins and reach ins
- Strict adherence to Label & Date policy
- Follow and complete all daily opening and closing side work checklist that are assigned
- Practice all Suffolk County Safe Food Handling Standards
- Reading guest food tickets (dupes) and follow proper coursing
- Assist front of house teammates with guest requests and special orders
- Follow proper plating standards
- Assist in maintaining food cost controls at all times and reporting anything that might be a negative to our food cost
