Job Type: Full-Time, Part-Time & Temporary
Pay: $15.00–$20.00 per hour
Reports To: Yujo Management Team
Yujo is a locally owned, fast-casual restaurant specializing in authentic Japanese ramen, Asian comfort food, and freshly brewed boba tea.
We are looking for dependable, motivated individuals to join our kitchen team as Ramen Cooks. This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced kitchen with an emphasis on quality, consistency, efficiency, and presentation.
Previous ramen experience is not required. We're willing to train candidates who have a strong work ethic, basic kitchen skills, and a genuine interest in learning the craft of Japanese ramen.
Position Responsibilities
- Prepare and execute menu items according to Yujo recipes and standards
- Prep vegetables, proteins, ramen toppings, side dishes, and other ingredients
- Cook, assemble, and plate ramen and other menu items quickly and consistently
- Maintain high standards for food quality and presentation
- Support the ramen chef and other kitchen team members during service
- Assist with tea and other restaurant prep as needed
- Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and food safety procedures
- Receive deliveries, inspect products for quality, and properly store inventory
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen
- Clean and deep-clean kitchen equipment, including grills and fryers
- Complete assigned opening, prep, and closing responsibilities
- Communicate effectively and work as part of a team during busy service periods
What We're Looking For
- No formal education required
- Previous kitchen experience is helpful but not required
- Culinary or hospitality training is a plus
- Food safety or related certifications are a plus
- Basic knife skills preferred
- Ramen experience or a genuine interest in learning the craft
- Dependable and punctual
- Positive and professional attitude
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Willingness to learn and accept coaching
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
