Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, presentation standards, and quality specifications
- Assist in menu planning and ingredient selection to ensure freshness and variety
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, adhering to food safety and sanitation protocols
- Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, handling, and portioning of ingredients
- Support catering events and special functions with timely meal preparation and service
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow during busy service hours
- Monitor inventory levels, report shortages, and assist with ordering supplies as needed
Requirements
- Proven experience as a line cook or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant or food service environment
- Strong knowledge of food handling, safety standards, and sanitation practices
- Exceptional knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and food presentation in fine dining settings preferred
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward collaboration
- Prior dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus but not required
