Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Technician to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced Office base lab environment. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting surgical teams during procedures, ensuring that the operating room is prepared and that all necessary instruments and supplies are available. This position requires a strong understanding of infection control practices and the ability to analyze various situations effectively.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the OBL by setting up surgical instruments and equipment.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by handing them instruments and maintaining a sterile field.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and assist with data collection as needed.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals in a Level I Trauma Center setting, providing support in both routine and emergency surgeries.
- Maintain accurate records of surgical procedures and assist with the documentation in Epic systems.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with best practices in surgical technology.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Previous experience in a hospital setting, particularly within ICU or emergency medicine, is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess situations quickly and effectively.
- Knowledge of infection control standards and practices.
- Familiarity with Epic systems is a plus but not required.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
