Insync is seeking a Leave of Absence (LOA) Specialist for one of our clients, in this role, you'll serve as the subject matter expert for employee leave programs, ADA accommodations, and workers' compensation coordination while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and healthcare regulations.
What You'll Do
- Manage the full lifecycle of employee leave requests, including FMLA, CFRA, personal, military (USERRA), parental, and other protected leaves.
- Lead the ADA interactive process, partnering with employees and leadership to evaluate workplace accommodations and document all good-faith efforts.
- Coordinate Workers' Compensation leave administration, including DWC-1 documentation, tracking restricted duty versus lost time, and collaborating with department leaders.
- Guide employees through state and company leave benefits, including California SDI/PFL, Short-Term Disability (STD), and Long-Term Disability (LTD) programs.
- Partner closely with Payroll to ensure accurate pay and benefit integration while maintaining employee status within the HRIS and timekeeping systems.
- Coordinate return-to-work activities, including fitness-for-duty certifications, light-duty assignments, and ongoing work restrictions with third-party leave administrators.
- Respond to Employment Development Department (EDD) requests and maintain compliance with all applicable leave laws and healthcare regulations.
- Maintain strict confidentiality while providing exceptional service to employees, managers, and leadership.
Required:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of dedicated Leave of Absence Administration experience within Human Resources.
- Strong working knowledge of FMLA, CFRA, ADA, USERRA, Workers' Compensation, and California leave laws.
- Experience using HRIS platforms such as Workday, UKG, Lawson, or similar systems.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Current California Driver's License required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Leave Management Specialist (CLMS) or other specialized leave management training.
- Experience in a healthcare environment and familiarity with Joint Commission and Title 22 standards.
Pay: $33.00 - $37.00 per hour
