Systems Support Specialist (MSP / IT Support)
Location: Central Florida
Hours: 8:00AM - 2:00PM or 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Monday - Friday
On-Call Rotation: 1 week per month

We are not a traditional call-center helpdesk environment. Our technicians work directly with real business environments and gain hands-on exposure to Microsoft 365 administration, networking, cybersecurity, VoIP systems, infrastructure support, proactive maintenance, and operational IT consulting.

Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Systems Support Specialist who wants hands-on exposure to real-world MSP operations and business IT environments. This role goes far beyond traditional helpdesk work and involves supporting a wide range of technologies and client environments both remotely and onsite.
This position is ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in IT while gaining experience with:

MSP environments are fast-paced and require strong communication, documentation, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide remote and onsite support for computer, networking, server, and software issues
- Take ownership of assigned support tickets and client environments
- Manage Exchange Online mailboxes and Microsoft 365 tenants
- Provision new computers and assist with software installation and deployment
- Build and configure custom computers, servers, and virtual machines
- Configure and troubleshoot servers, firewalls, switches, access points, and other network devices
- Troubleshoot and support VoIP (PBX) systems
- Manage cybersecurity software and review monitoring reports to determine remediation needs (backup alerts, antivirus reports, phishing attempts, infected devices, etc.)
- Participate in proactive system monitoring and recurring maintenance tasks
- Identify potential improvements, risks, and service opportunities within client environments
- Maintain accurate ticket documentation, time tracking, and technical notes
- Create and follow technical documentation and standard operating procedures
- Maintain security and privacy standards across networks and systems
- Stay up to date with the newest IT Software and Hardware technology
- Organize and maintain shop inventory
- Lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds as needed
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience with virtual machines and remote desktop support
- Familiarity with Windows Server environments
- Experience with building or repairing computer hardware
- Experience using any Professional Services Automation (PSA), Ticketing System, or Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) system
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ certification
- Associate degree or current enrollment in an IT-related field
- Relevant hands-on IT experience
- Familiarity with Computer Hardware
- Familiarity with networking concepts and VoIP systems

Compensation
- Initial training pay begins at $15.00 per hour during the onboarding and training period
- All technicians complete an initial training period to learn Jinx-IT procedures, systems, client environments, and documentation standards
- Compensation is reviewed shortly after training completion based on technical ability, operational consistency, communication, documentation quality, and overall performance
- High-performing employees who demonstrate strong technical and operational competency may qualify for accelerated pay increases and expanded responsibilities
