Job Summary
CFO is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Peer Recovery Specialist (PRS) Master Trainer to lead our new Education & Training Program. This role will train, mentor, and develop Peer Recovery Specialists to effectively support individuals in recovery.
This is a unique opportunity to build and lead a growing training program while helping establish CFO as a regional training hub for Certified Peer Recovery Specialists (CPRS) across Northern Virginia.
Pay & Employment Details
- Salary: $76,960 annually
- Hourly Rate: $37/hour
- Job Type: Full-Time
- Duration: Temporary (2-year position with possibility of renewal based on program needs and funding)
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver the 72-hour Virginia DBHDS Peer Recovery Specialist training.
Facilitate courses including, but not limited to:
- Motivational Interviewing
- Trauma-Informed Care and Language
- Peer Values, Ethics, and Boundaries
- Group Facilitation
- Navigation of Peer Resources
- Mandt De-Escalation Training
- CPR/First Aid
- Develop and oversee onboarding and training programs for new hires, interns, and existing staff.
- Lead and conduct on-the-job PRS training and skill development.
- Supervise and mentor interns and PRS staff, supporting professional growth.
- Track trainee progress and ensure competency development.
- Collaborate with community partners and training consortium members, including Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board
- Ensure consistency and quality across all PRS/CPRS training initiatives.
- Support expansion of training opportunities across Northern Virginia
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) required.
- Train-the-trainer certification mandatory:
- 72-hour Virginia DBHDS curriculum
· Train-the-trainer certification preferred: Mandt De-Escalation Training
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience delivering training in behavioral health, recovery, or peer services
- Strong knowledge of recovery principles and peer support models
- Experience in group facilitation and adult learning
Pay: $76,960.00 per year
