Medical Assistant – Certified

Desert Perinatal Associates is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant to join our Maternal-Fetal Medicine team. In this role, you will provide high-level clinical support to our patients during high-risk pregnancies, collaborating closely with our physicians and multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Location: Las Vegas, NV (Rotation between all practice locations required)
Job Type: Full-time, In-office
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Salary: $20.00 to $24.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Workups & Vitals: Interview patients to verify personal information, record medical histories, and confirm visit goals. Perform preliminary physical tests including blood pressure, weight, temperature, urine dipstick, and placing patients on Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) to report summary histories to the provider.
- Procedure Assistance: Assist physicians directly with specialized clinical procedures, including pap smears, cerclage removals, IUD insertions, and vaginal ultrasounds.
- Lab Results & Care Coordination: Inform patients of laboratory results promptly after physician review and direction.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Certifications:
- Medical Assistant Certification required.
- Basic Life Support Certification required.
- Basic Fetal Monitoring Certification within the first 12 to 18 months of hire date required.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of OB/GYN medical assistant experience required.
- Core Competencies: Must possess strong clinical skills, excellent bedside manner, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical Capabilities: Ability to walk, bend, stretch, and stand for long periods, assist patients, lift/push ultrasound equipment (up to 50 lbs), and hold prolonged scanning positions.
- Attributes: Must be mature, responsible, empathetic, and possess the emotional stability to manage high-risk medical scenarios and emergencies.
- Collaborative Mindset: Ability to build strong working relationships across the practice to foster exceptional teamwork, manifest a proactive, positive attitude, and possess a high capacity to learn and adapt to evolving workflows.
- Travel: Reliable transportation as travel between four offices is required.
