Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly organized Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) Coordinator to oversee and coordinate all aspects of ECT procedures within our mental health services. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical knowledge, exceptional case management skills, and a commitment to patient safety and quality care. As the ECT Coordinator, you will serve as a vital link between patients, clinicians, and support staff to ensure smooth operation of ECT treatments while maintaining compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate all inpatient and outpatient ECT treatment scheduling.
- Serve as the primary liaison among psychiatry, anesthesia, nursing, registration, and procedural teams.
- Conduct pre-treatment patient screening and ensure required documentation is complete.
- Verify consent forms, history and physical completion, medical clearance, laboratory results, and medication reconciliation.
- Educate patients and families regarding ECT procedures, expectations, risks, benefits, and post-treatment care.
- Monitor patient flow and ensure timely movement through admission, treatment, recovery, and discharge.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards.
- Track and report ECT program metrics (volume, outcomes, cancellations, patient satisfaction, adverse events).
- Collaborate on quality improvement initiatives and workflow optimization.
- Support staff education and competency validation related to ECT processes.
- Assist with supply management and equipment readiness.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and program development activities.
- Coordinate follow-up appointments and continuity of care.
- Insurance authorizations.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Perform nursing assessments before and after ECT procedures.
- Monitor patient recovery and escalate clinical concerns appropriately.
- Document care accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Provide post-procedure instructions as applicable.
Required:
- Current RN license
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Minimum 3–5 years clinical experience in behavioral health, procedural nursing, PACU, or perioperative services
- Current BLS certification

- Strong organizational and scheduling skills
- Knowledge of ECT treatment standards and psychiatric care
- Ability to coordinate interdisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication and patient education skills
- Experience with EMR systems and quality reporting
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
Work Environment
- Hospital-based inpatient and/or outpatient procedural setting
- Monday–Friday schedule with flexibility based on treatment volume
Pay: $46.00 - $53.00 per hour
