At Preservan, we save the future by preserving the past. We are the country’s leading wood rot repair company, and our brand-new Mobile franchise is seeking our primary, founding Epoxy Technician! We specialize in "repairing rather than replacing" salvageable materials, saving our "neighbors" (clients) thousands of dollars while protecting our city's architectural charm. We repair wood through a proven repair process using proprietary epoxy formulas to create permanent, quality repairs.
Responsibilities
- Evaluation & Neighbor Care: Evaluate wood rot on-site and communicate clearly and warmly with property owners to manage project expectations.
- Prep & Structural Repair: Methodically remove deteriorated wood rot, treat surfaces, and apply specialized primers to ensure optimal structural adhesion.
- Epoxy Sculpting: Mix proprietary resins and artfully apply, build up, and sculpt structural epoxy using hand tools with meticulous architectural precision.
- Finishing & Detailing: Use power sanders, profiling tools, and color-matching primers to seamlessly replicate original historic profiles and trim details.
- Site Safety & Stamina: Safely manage tools and heavy ladders daily, executing low-lying repairs (decking/sweeps) that require bending, squatting, and lifting.
Requirements
- Active / Handy Background: History of active, on-your-feet work (hospitality, retail, home services) or meticulous hands-on hobbies/crafting.
- Meticulous Mindset & Stability: Reliable job history (2-year average preferred) with a natural drive for precise, structured, step-by-step quality.
- Physical Stamina & Ladders: Comfort lifting 50+ lbs, bending/squatting, and safely working on tall ladders exceeding 18 feet daily.
- Outdoor Capability: Full capability to work outdoors year-round, comfortably managing the Nashville, TN summer heat.
- Tech, Legal & Dress Code: Valid driver’s license (clean record), clean background check, smartphone for photo tracking, and adherence to field professional dress standards.
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
