Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine nutritional needs, including evaluating medical histories and diagnostic data
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized care plans focused on improving health outcomes such as weight loss, geriatrics, or long-term care needs
- Provide expert nutrition counseling and health coaching to support behavior change and promote healthy habits
- Supervise dietary staff and oversee the dietary department’s operations to ensure compliance with standards and quality service delivery
- Manage specialized nutritional interventions such as tube feeding and other enteral or parenteral nutrition therapies
- Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems to document assessments, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to evaluate diagnostic results and adjust nutrition strategies accordingly for optimal patient recovery
Experience
- Proven experience as a Registered Dietitian in hospital or clinical settings with a focus on acute care or geriatrics
- Demonstrated knowledge of physiology, nutrition science, and dietetics principles applied in diverse populations
- Supervising experience within dietary or healthcare teams is highly desirable
- Familiarity with EMR systems used in hospital environments for documentation and care coordination
- Hands-on experience with dietary management for weight loss programs, long-term care residents, or patients requiring specialized nutrition such as tube feeding
- Strong background in patient assessment, diagnostic evaluation, and creating effective care plans tailored to individual needs
- Prior work in dietary departments of hospitals or healthcare facilities that serve diverse populations including geriatrics and acute care patients
