General Manager - Dog Wellness Franchise
About the Position
Scenthound is seeking a confident, hands-on manager who leads with integrity, accountability, and a strong focus on performance. The ideal Scenter Manager is an independent problem solver who is adaptable, detail-oriented, sales-minded, and passionate about dogs.
This role oversees daily Scenter operations and drives key performance indicators, including membership sales, trial conversions, labor efficiency, average ticket, rebooking, and customer retention.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a knowledgeable team focused on dog wellness, safety, sales, and exceptional service
- Manage daily operations and ensure the Scenter runs safely, efficiently, and on schedule
- Drive membership sales, trial conversions, rebooking, average ticket, and other critical KPIs
- Hire, train, retain, and conduct performance reviews for team members
- Maintain quality standards through hands-on participation, audits, coaching, and training
- Build genuine relationships with members and pet parents by answering questions, resolving concerns, and conducting customer outreach
- Deliver an exceptional sales and service experience while educating customers about preventative dog wellness
- Identify where support is needed and step into front- or back-of-house responsibilities when necessary
- Create a positive environment centered on teamwork, open communication, accountability, and Scenthound values
- Communicate company updates and expectations clearly and accurately
- Develop local business partnerships, attend community events, and serve as a Scenthound brand ambassador
- Ensure compliance with all safety, sanitation, and cleaning procedures
Qualifications and Skills
- At least two years of management experience
- Strong leadership, coaching, recruiting, and team-development skills
- Sales-focused with experience motivating a customer-facing team
- Positive, genuine, compassionate, and self-motivated
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and customer-service skills
- Willingness to roll up your sleeves and support every area of the business
- Strong problem-solving, organization, scheduling, and attention-to-detail skills
- Comfortable holding yourself and others accountable to high service standards
- Computer and technology proficiency
- Experience in dog grooming, boarding, veterinary care, pet services, or a membership-based business such as a gym or fitness studio is preferred
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Reliable transportation
- Willingness to work in a smoke-free environment
- A passion for leading people and a love of dogs are essential
