Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Program Director to lead our comprehensive substance use disorder treatment programs, including ASAM Level 3.1 Residential and ASAM Level 2.5 Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP). In this pivotal role, you will oversee clinical operations, ensure adherence to regulatory standards, and foster a compassionate environment that promotes recovery and well-being. Your leadership will drive program excellence, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and support clients on their journey toward health. Duties
- Oversee daily clinical and residential program operations.
- Ensure services meet ASAM, DBHDS, DMAS, CARF, HIPAA, and 42 CFR Part 2 requirments.
- Supervise, train, and support clinical, case-management, peer, and residential staff.
- Monitor staffing, schedules, group coverage, service delivery, and required clinical hours.
- Review assessments, individualized service plans, progress notes, continued-stay reviews, discharge documentation, and safety plans.
- Ensure documentation supports medical necessity and is completed accurately and timely.
- Coordinate admissions, transfers, discharges, and referrals to appropriate levels of care.
- Lead interdisciplinary treatment-team meetings and collaborate with medical, psychiatric, and community providers.
- Monitor medication coordination, toxicology screening, appointments, incident reporting, and client safety needs.
- Respond to clinical crises, behavioral concerns, grievances, and significant incidents.
- Maintain audit-ready records and assist with licensing, payer, and accreditation reviews.
- Track program performance, documentation deficiencies, corrective actions, and quality-improvement initiatives.
- Promote a professional, trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and accountable workplace culture.
- Complete additional leadership responsibilities as assigned.
Skills
- Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related behavioal-health field.
- Current Virginia license as an LPC, LCSW, LMFT, LSATP, or another independently licensed behavioral-health profession.
- At least two years of experience providing or supervising substance-use and a co-occurring treatment services.
- Working knowledge of ASAM criteria and residential/PHP programming.
- Experience supervising multidisciplinary behavioral-health staff.
- Strong clinical documentation, organization, communication, and crisis-management skills.
- Ability to complete background checks and other requirements applicable to DBHDS-licensed services.
Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
