Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their produce selections, offering product demos and recommendations to enhance their shopping experience
- Stock, organize, and merchandise produce displays to maintain an appealing and accessible section
- Operate cash registers and POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for retail sales transactions, including cash handling and cash drawer management
- Upsell complementary products and promote special offers to maximize sales opportunities
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the produce area, adhering to safety guidelines
- Conduct product demos and educate customers on seasonal items or new arrivals to boost engagement and sales
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient stocking, inventory management, and overall store presentation
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers via phone inquiries or placing special orders
Requirements
- Previous retail or customer service experience preferred; supervisory experience is a plus
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, retail math, and retail sales transactions
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively in bilingual environments if applicable
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and stock management practices
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting produce boxes or moving stock carts
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and positive energy
- Ability to follow phone etiquette standards when communicating with customers or vendors
