Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. As a Kennel Assistant, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care for animals in our facility, ensuring their health and well-being while maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Duties
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
- Assist with medication administration as directed by veterinary professionals.
- Handle animals safely and effectively, employing proper restraint techniques when necessary.
- Support veterinary staff with basic procedures and treatments as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of animal care and treatment.
- Maintaining a clean environment for the pets while they are in our care.
Skills
- Previous kennel experience is desirable, but not required.
- The ability to keep a clean kennel environment is required.
- Proficiency in animal restraint techniques and medication administration is preferred but not required.
- Strong skills in animal handling, including dog handling techniques is desirable but not required.
- Knowledge in animal behavior is desirable, but not required.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour
