Qualifications:
We are seeking a responsible and skilled Program Coordinator who can work effectively as part of a team.
- The ideal candidate must possess excellent organizational and communication skills to assist in all aspects of service delivery.
- It is essential to represent the organization in a professional and courteous manner.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
- The Program Coordinator for the Older Adult Center will supervise staff and be responsible for providing outreach, community education, assessment, referral services, and congregate meal services to older adults.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
- High School Diploma
- Two years of experience in human services
- Experience working with older adults and knowledge of NYC Aging regulations is a plus
Role:
Work schedule Mon-Fri, 10am - 2pm
- Under the general supervision of the Deputy Director, the Program Coordinator will develop, coordinate, implement, and oversee a range of activities, outings, and events aimed at enhancing the overall enjoyment of center participants.
- Responsibilities also include assisting with the overall administration of the Older Adult Center, overseeing congregate meals, coordinating educational and recreational activities, supervising staff and volunteers, and providing case assistance.
- The Coordinator will participate in workshops, presentations, fairs, and community activities in Brooklyn and Queens to promote the program.
- Additionally, they will assist in submitting monthly reports on activities in the portal system.

Responsibilities:
- Develop, coordinate, and implement educational, recreational, health promotion, and cultural activities and outings for older adults.
- Recruit, supervise, and coordinate the activities of volunteer workers.
- Assist with presentations, workshops, fairs, and promotional events.
- Facilitate and coordinate health promotion, physical exercise, cultural, and educational activities in collaboration with service providers and HMOs.
- Work with the site Advisory Council
- Compile statistics, prepare reports, and maintain attendance and other required records.
- Represent the agency in community and interagency activities.
- Participate in training activities.
- Perform any other duties as required.
Programming and Social Services:
Maintain an activity program that addresses participants' nutritional, emotional, physical, intellectual, and social needs. Responsible for developing innovative, creative, and interactive activities that will increase participation at the center. Represent the program within the community.
