Lily of the Valley Early Education & Preschool is seeking an experienced, passionate, and organized Assistant Director to join our leadership team. This is a full time position. This position supports the Center Director in overseeing our Infant, Toddler, and Preschool programs while ensuring high-quality care, compliance with California Title 22 regulations, and exceptional support for children, families, and staff.

Responsibilities
- Support the daily operations of the Infant, Toddler, and Preschool programs.
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training, and mentoring teaching staff.
- Ensure compliance with California Title 22 licensing regulations.
- Maintain staff schedules and classroom ratios.
- Support curriculum implementation and classroom quality.
- Conduct tours and assist with enrollment and family retention.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.
- Maintain confidential children's and staff records, including Infant Needs & Services Plans and Sleep Logs.
- Assist in classrooms as needed and assume Director responsibilities in the Director's absence.
Requirements
Applicants must meet California Community Care Licensing (Title 22) requirements, including:
- Minimum 12 ECE units plus 3 Infant/Toddler units
- 3 Administration units (completed or currently enrolled)
- Minimum 4 years of preschool/infant teaching experience
- Minimum 1-2 years of Assistant Director or leadership experience
- Current DOJ/FBI/CACI fingerprint clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Current TB clearance (within 1 year)
- Required immunizations (MMR, Tdap, Influenza)
- Current Mandated Reporter Training Certificate

Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to lift and carry children, sit on the floor, actively supervise classrooms indoors and outdoors, and respond quickly to children's needs in a fast-paced early childhood environment.
