Assistant Store Manager / Color & Curl Leader
Position Summary
The Assistant Store Manager / Color & Curl Leader is a key member of the store leadership team responsible for driving sales growth, customer experience, talent development, and operational excellence. This role combines the technical expertise of the Color & Curl Concierge with the leadership and business responsibilities of an Assistant Store Manager.
The ideal candidate is passionate about beauty, hair color, texture, education, and developing people. They lead by example through exceptional customer service, strong selling behaviors, operational execution, and talent development while growing the store's color business and overall performance.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development (40%)
- Drive store sales, color growth, KPI performance, and customer retention.
- Deliver exceptional customer experiences through consultative selling and omni-channel services.
- Provide professional color and texture consultations and product recommendations.
- Introduce customers to color, care, and texture solutions that meet their business needs.
- Execute promotional events, education programs, vendor partnerships, and customer appreciation initiatives.
- Utilize social media and community outreach to drive customer engagement and awareness.
- Analyze business trends, scorecards, and reporting to identify opportunities and create action plans.
- Generate new business through relationship building, prospecting, and cold-calling.
Leadership & Talent Development (25%)
- Support the Store Manager in leading, coaching, and developing associates.
- Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and retaining top talent.
- Build a pipeline of future leaders, including CCC and ASM candidates.
- Conduct training and education for associates on products, color services, selling skills, and customer engagement.
- Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performance culture.
- Provide timely coaching, feedback, and accountability to drive results.
Operations & Store Execution (25%)
- Support daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Ensure merchandising, visual standards, signage, and brand presentation are maintained.
- Assist with inventory management, cycle counts, ordering, and shipment processing.
- Execute company initiatives, promotions, and operational directives.
- Support payroll management, scheduling, and labor productivity goals.
- Utilize reporting and technology tools to improve store performance and customer experience.
Safety & Asset Protection (10%)
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and loss prevention procedures.
- Protect inventory and company assets through proper operational controls.
- Maintain compliance with cash handling, inventory accuracy, and HAZMAT requirements where applicable.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2-3 years of retail, sales, customer service, or beauty industry experience preferred.
- Previous leadership, management, or supervisory experience preferred.
- Cosmetology license preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of sales performance metrics and business reporting.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency with POS systems, mobile technology, social media, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to travel locally for training, events, and business needs as required.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and special events.

Pay: $17.10 - $20.00 per hour
