Toyoda Gosei, Texas is looking for an energetic, results-oriented professional to be our next Paint Supervisor on our evening shift (typically 6:30 PM - 4:00 AM)
Job Summary
As the Paint Systems Department Supervisor, you will lead and inspire your team to consistently meet and exceed daily production goals while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. You will ensure that all team members are fully engaged in their assigned work cells throughout the shift and that production runs smoothly to support customer demand. Your leadership will be key in driving continuous improvement and fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration on the manufacturing floor.
Responsibilities
Champion safety by ensuring all team members in your area follow established safety protocols and wear appropriate protective equipment.
Monitor production quality to ensure defects stay within company standards and meet all key performance indicators (KPIs).
Ensure strict adherence to Working and Inspection Instructions by all team members to maintain product integrity and consistency.
Enforce company policies and procedures, setting clear expectations and holding team members accountable.
Proactively identify potential risks or disruptions that could impact the production flow, and take swift action to mitigate these issues.
Lead and support Kaizen activities by identifying improvement opportunities, facilitating implementation, and tracking results.
Maintain and update Production Visual Management Boards to clearly communicate progress, issues, and priorities to the team.
Track productivity metrics daily using tally sheets and other tools, and address deviations promptly.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance to ensure seamless operations and rapid resolution of issues.
Take ownership of special projects and assignments as directed by senior management, driving results and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Minimum of five years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in paint or finishing operations. (automotive a HUGE plus)
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, particularly related to paint application, drying, and finishing.
Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written).
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Solid knowledge of the Toyota Production System (TPS) and continuous improvement methodologies.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop team members.
Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions to improve production and quality.
Physical Demands
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
Must be able to stand and move on the manufacturing floor for extended periods.
Willingness to work day or night shifts as required.
Flexibility to work overtime when necessary to meet production goals.
Working Conditions
Must be present on the manufacturing floor 90% of the time during shifts.
Comply with all safety requirements and properly use protective equipment.
Ability to work safely in heavy foot and machinery traffic areas.
Adapt to working in noisy environments where hearing protection is required.
Comfortable working with chemicals and machinery used in paint application and drying processes.
Direct Reports & Responsibilities
Lead assigned team members and oversee their daily activities.
Manage Kanban production schedules to ensure timely workflow.
Complete and review Injection Daily Audit check sheets.
Monitor team members’ working hours and attendance.
Enter and maintain accurate production and quality data.
Respond promptly to any non-conformance issues and ensure follow-up actions.
Ensure team members comply with production standards and continuous improvement goals.
