JOB The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for analyzing, developing, and enhancing the operation of all aspects of a college-wide data lake and business intelligence support. The primary role is to assemble and transform data into actionable knowledge for the use of college leaders and administrators, including: executive-level reports and dashboards; designing, building, and normalizing data and databases; and locating and extracting data from the College’s enterprise systems and other internal and external data resources. The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for creating, implementing, and maintaining data lakes and business intelligence applications, and databases. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Prepares reporting, analytics, and dashboard development from concept to implementation.

Analyzes, develops, and interprets data needs for end users.

Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the enterprise-wide reporting systems and data warehouse solutions.

Serves as a resource to all levels of management for reviewing, analyzing, designing/creating, and implementing institutional reports, dashboards, and data warehouse solutions.

Provides training and documentation on reporting systems and solutions as needed for all levels of staff.

Understands conceptual and physical data models using relational and dimensional data modeling techniques.

Maintains system storage structures for warehousing systems needed for reporting solutions.

Deliver quality customer services to both internal and external constituents in a professional, helpful, and courteous manner.

Perform established maintenance tasks to keep the reporting platform going, including license management, data bridge service management, validation of scheduled refreshes, etc.

Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
- A master’s degree is preferred.

Extensive experience in Ellucian’s suite of products preferred.

Knowledge and/or experience with PL/SQL, HTML, XML, and Java preferred.

Knowledge of data modeling, star schema, and denormalized data models preferred.

Experience with Ellucian’s Banner system, Operational Data Store, or Enterprise Data Warehouse, and Amazon Web Services preferred.
