Job Title: Adjunct Instructor for Biology Labs

Reports To: Dean of the School of Science and Health
Job Type: This is a part time, exempt position.
William Woods University is now accepting applications for a part-time adjunct faculty to teach up to two sections of BIO 115 – Biology I for Majors Lab. Both sections are offered every Monday (1-4pm and 6-9pm). The weekly lab activities are already prepared. The instructor’s responsibilities will be to facilitate the lab, grade lab reports, and prepare and put away the lab materials.
- A doctorate in biology is preferred, but applicants with a master’s in biology will be considered.
- Experience teaching labs and professional working experience in the related fields is preferred.
- Applicants must have at least five (5) years of experience in the field related to the course(s) they will teach.
- Experience teaching courses at the graduate level is preferred.
- Demonstrated teaching effectiveness.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to build successful relationships with student populations.
- Demonstrated time management and detail-oriented skills.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet frequently occurring deadlines.
- Ability to develop a professional rapport with diverse school/campus constituents.
- Ability to develop and complete projects without continued direct supervision.
- Outstanding conflict resolution skills.
